Parma, 6 August 2025 – The kick-off meeting for the Arab-Mediterranean Campus was recently held in Rome, marking the official launch of an ambitious academic initiative developed in collaboration with 12 Italian universities and a number of partner institutions from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Among the founding institutions is the University of Parma, which will play a key role in the project by leading the thematic area of "Food Innovation in Italy."
The initiative, coordinated by LUISS University, is funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and aims to establish an international hub for education and cultural exchange, with a focus on young people from the MENA region.
Targeting primarily the Arab countries of the Maghreb, Middle East, and Arabian Gulf, the Arab-Mediterranean Campus seeks to foster the exchange of knowledge, skills, and opportunities between Italy and the Arab world, while strengthening academic, economic, and professional ties across the Mediterranean.
he activities of the Arab-Mediterranean Campus include:
- The International Honor Program, a high-level educational track designed for selected university students from the MENA region.
- The International Executive Course, a series of advanced training initiatives aimed at professionals, public officials, and representatives of local institutions from the MENA area.
- The organization of international thematic events, such as academic seminars, business forums, and networking initiatives, held both in Italy and in MENA countries to promote cooperation and the development of international projects.

The website also provides full details and the official call for applications for the International Honor Program, which is already open. The application deadline is 12 September.
The educational activities of the Honor Program include online modules delivered remotely and in-person sessions in Italy, hosted by LUISS University and other Italian universities.
Thanks to the support of the Italian Ministry of University and Research, 50 fully funded scholarships are available.
