On May 5, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., the fourth and final meeting of the online seminar series The Right to Food in Places of Detention. Between Law and Society. The Penitentiary Issue will be held. The series is promoted by the Department of Law, Political and International Studies and organized as part of the activities of Groups 3 and 4 of the “Food for Future” project of the Department of Excellence.
The seminar, organized in collaboration with CNUPP (National Conference of University Prison Centers), entitled Food: Identity, Inequalities, Health. Experiences from Prison, will be introduced by Prof. Vincenza Pellegrino and will feature contributions by Dr. Irene Valota, Dr. Serena Mambriani, and Dr. Chiara Cacciani, as well as Dr. Antonio Dragone (University of Parma), who will present testimonies from incarcerated students of the University Prison Center of Parma, together with Prof. Francesca Vianello (University of Padua).
Please note that the seminar series is intended for both students and professionals. In particular, students enrolled in the degree programs of the Department who attend all the seminars may apply for the recognition of 3 extracurricular ECTS credits. The series has also been accredited by the Parma Bar Association (2 continuing education credits per meeting and 10 credits for participation in the entire series) and by OASER (6 continuing education credits and 2 credits in professional ethics/professional regulations).
