Parma, November 12, 2025 – On Friday, November 21, at 10:30 a.m., in the Aula Magna of the Central Building of the University of Parma and via live streaming, the scientific conference “Global Sustainability: Impacts, Results and Interdisciplinary Perspectives of the ONFOODs Project. Activities and Evidence from Spoke 1” will take place. The event is organized within the framework of the PNRR ONFOODs project by the Department of Economics and Management, the Department of Law, Politics and International Studies, and the Department of Food and Drug Sciences of the University of Parma.

The initiative aims to share the main results and impacts achieved during the three-year implementation of the PNRR ONFOODs project within Spoke 1 “Global Sustainability” by the University of Parma researchers involved.

Spoke 1 focused on studying the elements that influence the sustainability of local food supply chains to ensure fair, healthy, and sustainable access to food, within a food policy framework and a renewed urban-rural relationship, connecting research, businesses, and the public sector through a multidisciplinary approach.

The project adopted innovative and participatory methodologies involving companies and civil society stakeholders, with the goal of fostering co-creation processes to identify solutions to real needs. The presentation of results and related discussion will address topics such as: policies and governance models around food production, distribution, and consumption; promoting sustainability in agri-food supply chains; the socio-economic impact of sustainable agri-food chains on the local economy; and technological and social innovations related to agri-food supply chains.

In addition to researchers from the University of Parma, researchers from partner universities will participate: Politecnico di Milano – Department of Design and the University of Pisa – Department of Agricultural, Food and Agro-Environmental Sciences.

The conference will conclude with a roundtable discussion on the topic Local Supply Chains: The ONFOODs Experience” featuring Davide Fassi (Politecnico di Milano), Alessio Cavicchi (University of Pisa), Francesca Marconi (DES Parma), Lisa Baldi (Parma Sostenibile), and Daniele D’Alto (Emporio Solidale di Parma).

The conference will be available via live streaming.
